A Kassen is the Copenhagen-based artistic collective composed of Christian Bretton-Meyer, Morten Steen Hebsgaard, Søren Petersen, and Tommy Petersen. Formed in 2004, A Kassen has a conceptual approach, which ranges from site-specific and performance-based installations to photography and sculpture.

Graduates of the Royal Academy of Denmark, A Kassen have exhibited extensively during the past two decades. They have had recent solo shows at the National Gallery of Iceland (Reykjavik), Den Frie (Copenhagen), Sorø Kunstmuseum (Sorø) and KØS (Køge). They have also shown at ARoS (Aarhus), ARTIPELAG (Gustavsberg), Copenhagen Contemporary (Copenhagen), UMOCA (Salt Lake City), and the Museum of Mexico City (Mexico City). A Kassen is jointly represented by Galleri Nicolai Wallner (Copenhagen), Galerie Mitterand (Paris) and Maisterravalbuena (Madrid).

The iron hands of necessity shake the dice-box of chance.
