De Brock is pleased to announce its participation at the first edition of Art Antwerp, taking place from 16 through 19 December. The gallery is presenting a solo presentation of the London-based artist Yulia Iosilzon (b. 1992, Moscow, Russia).

Yulia Iosilzon’s paintings evoke a dreamworld of human-plant hybrids and playful childhood memory, tinged with the quiet menace of mythology. Figures and faces emerge from the surface of the canvases before dissolving into foliage, water, and the bodies of animals. The paintings contrast chaos with control, baroque abundance with boldly delineated segments of color.

The presentation includes ten recent paintings as well as a site specific mural and is accompanied by a catalog publication, designed by Vrints-Kolsteren. Please click here to read the catalog essay, written by Hector Campbell.
