Lawrence Calver

De Brock is pleased to announce Lawrence Calver has been selected for a residency at Scabal in Brussels.

Founded in 1938 by Otto Hertz, Scabal produces the finest fabrics for making men's suits. While the brand operates stores in London, Paris, Geneva and Shanghai, its head office is located in Brussels, almost opposite the future Kanal Pompidou.

Scabal has a long history of working together with leading artists. An artistic commission given to Salvador Dalí in 1971 resulted in 12 beautiful large-scale drawings enhanced with watercolor. In 2000, John Armleder created a brass sphere accompanied by a striking wallpaper.

Recently, Scabal has reinvigorated its residency program, and we are delighted that Lawrence will be taking up residency as the first international artist on the programme for a period of 3 months.
